Greetings and Happy Lunar New Year!

I thought I would post a few tidbits of knowledge from my own book of shadows (BOS). I hope that this information can further aid you in crafting spells for wings. If you are a beginning witch I hope this can help you in your other magick work.


Aura Purification (For Protection From Negativity of All Forms):

This is a quick little energy fix whenever you feel uncomfortable or threatened. This may also be done every morning to help strengthen your overall energy.

Begin by selecting a memory or something that means a lot to you. You'll know it has a strong effect on you because you'll instantly feel happy and content. Allow that good energy to run through your entire body. Now, imagine a glowing white energy surrounding you and engulfing you. Breathe steadily and deeply, and continue thinking the positive thoughts as you do this.

(If you feel ill, you can use this method but with a green aura instead.)


Simple Ways to Increase Magick Abilities:

• Write Ofudas
• Meditate
• Send positive energy to other people/animals/places/objects
• Keep a journal to record anything magickal that happens to you
• Go for a walk in nature
• Listen to your favorite music and dance
• Dance in the rain
• Purify your aura / Try changing the color of your aura
• Practice with tarot cards
• Play with a regular 52-deck of playing cards
• Swim
• Sit in nature
• Make art
• Do what makes you happy

Mantra to See What is Unseen:

Like old webs I remove the veil,

I shall see what was spoken of in old tales,

The world that was hazy shall now be clear,

I welcome new vision with no fear.

Rifting Ritual:

NOTE: This is not guaranteed to work physically. But this WILL open a portal. Follow every step carefully in order to prevent dark spirits from passing through it. Returning will be difficult, if possible.

~Needed:

• Candles (4 for you and add 1 other for each other person performing)
• Drawing of Torii (You or one of the other people performing must draw this and put in your intentions while drawing it)
• Dark room or a very dark location outside at night (no street lamps nearby)
• Salt
• Stories (You and your friends can make the stories up yourself or use another story)

~Directions:

1. Create a circle of salt large enough for everyone to sit in

2. Surround outside of circle with candles

3.Light candles in a counterclockwise direction

4. Everyone sit inside the circle with the drawing of the torii on the ground with the opening pointing towards everyone

5. Recite your chosen stories, they must reflect the kind of place you wish to rift to. Everyone must immerse themselves in the stories

New House Purification:

Walk around the empty house while burning a sage smudge stick or a sage incense stick. Use a large feather or folding fan to fan out the smoke. Think positive thoughts and envision the smoke as white light filling every corner and crevice. You can chant a protective chant or sing a song that you feel suitable while doing this; or you can be silent.

Afterwards, retrace your steps through the house while waving a gohei. (You can make your own gohei by folding shide and attaching them to a wooden stick)

Helpful Herbs:

Sage - Purification of evil

Thyme - Increases courage and memory

Rosemary - Maintains youthfulness

Basil - Draws prosperity and wealth

Lavender - True love and dreams

Cedar - Increases strength and protection

Pine - For prosperity and divination

Rose - Love

Bay - Divination

Quick Love Potion:

This will not make someone fall in love with you, that would be black magick. Instead this is used to catch the attention of your desired person.

1/2 tsp Vanilla Extract

1/2 tsp French Lavender oil

Mix and dab on your wrists and neck

Days of the Week (their planets and meanings):

Sunday - (Sun) Hope and victory

Monday - (Moon) Healing

Tuesday - (Mars) War and protection

Wednesday - (Mercury) Career and travel

Thursday - (Jupiter) Wealth and family

Friday - (Venus) Love and growth

Saturday - (Saturn) Fortune and creativity

Magickal Tip:

The non-dominant hand is used for receiving energy.

• Spells, A Definition

By the mere request of something is to cast a spell. A spell is to use one's energy to propel their wishes out to the universe. Rituals and chants are used to increase the energy.

• Spell-casting

Utilizing symbols, places, or times which have special meaning to you boasts the power. Although one should understand the meaning of certain symbols, time, or phases of the moon, you should also follow your gut as to what you are most comfortable with. This gives the spell a more personal signature. 

Imagine life as a dream; change what you want at your will.

• Hindrances

What are you trying to accomplish? Question yourself and your motives, and meditate upon these. What are you afraid of? What about your desire seems impossible and what will prevent this from happening? Mull these questions over, find answers, and let go. 

Do not cling onto the negative figure out what will work for you, and let your dreams run wild. In order for a successful spell, you must have hope, and release doubts.

Hang onto your dreams will not make them come true. Cast the spell, say the prayer, then move on. Find something to do that will take your mind off of what you asked for until it comes true. In doing this, you allow your request to make it's way to the universe.

• Additional Tips

Tween times (dawn, dusk, midnight, solstices, equinox), holidays, and significant celestial events, are great times for spell casting.

Ask for aid from various creatures and deities (know who they are and that they have good intentions).

Realize where this energy is coming from. How will you receive what you desire? Be sure that none are being harmed in the process.

What place or element do you have a strong connection with? Use it whatever it may be. 

Take your time. Don't rush.

So now my fellow feathery ones, it is with a heavy heart that I must bid you adieu. 

I had created this blog in hopes of connecting with like-minded ones as myself and helping them in their journey. I have hopefully succeeded in helping others out and I'll still be there for any of you, feel free to contact any one of my listed contacts whenever you need. Spell Dump

I have quite a bit of spells I constructed from years of spell crafting & avian human study. As a request I will be dumping all these spells on this post. Keep in mind, these are spells I created, therefore they may not have a similar effect on you. Take my spells as a base and simply change it to your befitting.


I. God Sponsor

This is a ritual to indirectly grow wings. I call this God Sponsor because you are calling upon a God or spiritual being of your choice to aid you in your wing growth. There isn't a limited number of entities you can have sponsor you, but you shouldn't take on more than you can give attention to. I took on three; one is the Goddess Inari, another is a winged sky spirit, and the third is actually a youkai, a kitsune servant of Inari.

Instructions:

To begin is simple enough. Form a friendly relationship with your chosen God/spirit. This can be done by:

     - Talking as though you are speaking to them
     - Set up an altar or an image dedicated to them
     - Have a mental or physical image of what they look like (just make one up if you can't find any)
     - While meditating, visualize yourself visiting them at their home
     - Give offerings

Continue doing these things. Be sure to make it habitual because this entity is now your friend and companion throughout your journey. However, if you wish to relieve your chosen God/spirit from the sponsor position, follow the instructions below:

Perform the ritual on a day and during a time that relates to the God/spirit.

1. Cast a circle
2. Sit or lay inside the circle and close your eyes.
3. Meditate upon yourself visiting the home of this God/spirit.
4. Meet with them and explain to them the circumstances.
5.Wait for the particular feeling that lets you know they understand.
6. Come out of meditation and end the ritual.

Over time you will gradually feel their power on you weakening.

WARNING: This ritual can be dangerous due to the summoning of a being and opening a portal to yourself. Take caution, keep amulets close by and maintain a clean, happy aura. Make sure you understand what you are trying to summon and don't show fear.




II. New Moon Wing Blessing

Obviously this spell is to be done during a new moon, and a tween time, specifically midnight. A windy or slightly breezy night is ideal, being that it'll be easier to contact the wind spirits.

Stand tall, stretching your arms towards the sky. Allow the energy of the night to surround you and flow through you. Feel it working it's way to your shoulder blades where your wings will sprout forth.

Imagine growing pains in your back, feel the itching of new bones and poking feathers, embrace the change. Say out loud with emotion:

"I dedicate my body and soul to the sky,
Spirits of the air,
Let me flutter and soar up high,
Growing forth from my back, two large feather covered wings,
Sturdy to keep me steady, large to give me height, and flexible to stay hidden when I close my back,
With a giant leap, I will fly."




III. 13

In numerology, 12 represents wholeness, to be complete. 13 represents change, moving forward from 12. You at this point as a human represent 12; now use your power to advance to 13 and slowly you will emerge to 14 which represents freedom and independence.

Materials:

~ White or blue candle
~ Small square piece of paper
~ Writing utensil
~ Fire resistant bowl or fire pit
~ A feather (Color does not matter. Do not pluck from bird)

Steps:

1. Carve or draw the number '13' onto the candle. While doing so, imagine what you desire. Being that you probably want wings, imagine yourself with wings and the feeling of flight.
2. Write the number '12' on the piece of paper. While doing so, envision the part of you that you are leaving behind, changing, and what part of your life you are leaving behind, changing.
3. Light the candle, keeping in mind what you want
4. Be near the prepared fire resistant bowl or fire pit
5. Fold the feather inside the '12' paper
6. Ignite the paper with the feather
7. Make sure it is burning well and toss it into the bowl or pit
8. As it burns imagine the flames are eating your old self and the smoke is energy to create your new self as an avian human




IV. Dreams of Wings

Using a black marker, write out three times on a small, square piece of paper "I will grow wings".

Afterwards you are to keep it under your pillow and before going to sleep, repeat the written three times. Then kiss it and replace it back under the pillow. You will continue this for seven days, which then you will burn it and keep the ashes in a pouch which you can carry around.

Note that it isn't necessary to keep the pouch with you 24/7, but you must make contact with it at least once everyday until your wings grow.




V. Altar Stone

This is a simple charm, used if you have an altar you use for magic.

Collect a large, smooth stone from a body of water. Using oil pastels or paint and draw/paint a sigil to represent your wish for wings. Add your energy to it and place it on your altar where the energy shall manifest and your wish shall develop and grow with your powers.




VI. Learning Flight from a Bird

What better source to learn about wing growth and flight than from a bird? There is much knowledge they possess just waiting for a human to hear.

Firstly of course, locate a bird. Simple enough but can you make them stay? It would be easier if you have a pet bird. If not, no problem. Find a bird and be able to get close to it, say maybe at most a few feet away. Open your mind and try connect your thoughts to the bird's. Imagine a tube running from your head to the bird's, sending your thoughts and desires through it. Speak the following to the bird:

"Bird perched high,
Ruler of the sky,
Judge my worthiness,
Impart your wisdom upon me,
Teach my wings to grow,
Guide my body to soar,
Help me see the world from above,
Bird in my sight,
A companion I ask you to be,
A companion for flight."




VII. Mirror My Wings

At sunrise, stand in front of a body mirror. Make sure the sunlight is pouring into the room and washing over the mirror. Calm your thoughts, and feel the serenity of the sunlight. Don't think hard, instead let your thoughts flow, envisioning your wings growing gradually and finally bursting from your back. Feel the sensation.




VIII. Flight Mantra

Lifting lightly from the ground I soar,
Wings of feathers lasting forevermore,
Unto my back they grow,
From the power, the strength I sow,
Spreading with grace and kicking off towards the sky,
My wings will spread and I will fly, I will fly, I will fly.

Spells for Growing: Bluebird Wings

So much for weekly, *sigh*, it's a process. Anyhow, here is another bird:

If you have requests, please share. Also, possessing feathers of your chosen bird for the spell is unnecessary, but could strengthen the connection.

Bluebird






(Beatrice from "Over the Garden Wall". She was turned into a bluebird and this is a depiction of her as an avian human with bluebird wings. "Over the Garden Wall" was a beautiful and tragic miniseries which I must admit I fell in love with, and I don't often watch Cartoon Network shows. It heightened my faith in the unknown.)


Mantra:

Of youth and the naive,
Soaring through meadows with few trees,
Happiness be thine,
Bluebird wings of mine.

Spell:

• In the center of a drawing of the sun or on a candle, draw or carve a sigil that represents your desire for bluebird wings.
• Cast a circle at sunrise and place the picture or candle in the center. (If using candle, light it)
• Focus on what you want. Bluebirds represent happiness, youth, and rebirth. In Native American beliefs, bluebirds warded off winter, were the Sun's children, and spirits in animal form. Invoke the characteristics into your energy.
• Chant:

"As the sun reveal and the wind doth blow,
May growth be steady and slow,
The warding song reach thy land,
Give me joy to withstand,
Feathers of cool and swift blue,
A heart that's true,
Wake I will to fly,
Wake I may up high,
With the rising sun my wings grow,
Winter chased by my bluebird wings."

Wish Spells

The following are two wish spells. So wish for wings with all your heart and fly freely:

Ofuda & Omamori Making

I sometimes get confused with ofuda and omamori, but ofudas are talismans to protect and benefit the whole family. While this is still something necessary when you become an avian, omamori is the amulet you need for your personal desires.

I will instruct how to create the talismans themselves and how to invoke the power. As for making the omamori case, Ynao's Otaku Blog shows how to.

Allow me to simply mention that it is by Shinto tradition to purchase the amulet and that you cannot make your own. I personally believe however that when you create it with your personal intentions, you empower it more.

*Materials:

1. Paper, wood, or metal. You can choose any material that you feel a connection with. Note: The selected material will be burned in a year. Make sure it is nothing precious or important.
2. A candle
3. Incense (Best to use for wing growth: Frankincense, Sandalwood, Anise (star), Champa, Ginger, Lavender, Myrrh, Peppermint (highly recommend), Vanilla)
4. Filbert paint brush or thick marker
5. (Optional) Paint (any color, preferably black) or ink
6. A quiet room

*Instructions:

Note: This ritual is best done during the following times: New Year's Eve, tween times (midnight, dusk, dawn), or sabbats.

1. In a quiet room where you will be undisturbed, crack open a window and door
2. Light the incense then candle
3. Bow twice to the setup candle and incense, then clap twice, finally bow once more
4. Seat yourself before the candle and incense with your material and writing utensils
5. Have a chosen deity or spirit. There can be more than one you call upon to grant power to the amulet. For mine, I am requesting the Goddess Inari, a personal kitsune messenger of hers, Nei, and an air spirit, Topanga.
6. You can write whatever you feel necessary on the paper (symbol, prayer, anything that represents your intentions). It is best to write it out in Japanese. I found the following Kanji that could be used to write "wing growth": 成 (grow, become) 翎 (feather, plume, wing). Visit Denshi Jisho to find more kanji. You must also write the name of your chosen deity/deities and/or spirit(s).
7. Say a prayer, voicing your request to the deity or spirit
8. Pass the talisman three times through the flame of the candle
9. Then pass the talisman through the smoke of the incense three times
10. While passing it through these two, imagine their energy entering in and a white light growing around it. Also envision what you wish to gain from the talisman.
11. Chant any words which you feel grant power all while doing this
12. Now place the talisman in front of you and meditate. Spend as much time as you need to call upon the power. Allow your own energy to flow freely into the talisman.
13. Once done meditating, say a final prayer or mantra
14. End with a powerful word
15. Stand up and bow twice, clap twice, and bow once more
16. Now if this is an omamori, put it in its case. If it is an ofuda, place it in a Kamidana, or any place of your choosing. You may carry the omamori around with you, hang it on a bag or anything really.
17. Give daily thanks to the talisman

The Thinned Veil

Happy Halloween! Merry Samhain!

Today is my favorite holiday; I can hardly wait for night to cloak our town. Hopefully it will be a clear, cool night.

The best part about this holiday is the thinning of the veil. It is believed that between sunset of October 31st and sunrise of November 1st, the veil between the spirit world and our word is thin. For this we must light jack-o-lanterns to keep away evil or tricky spirits.

One can take advantage of the thin veil to inform spirits of their wish in order to further their progress to success.

I created two spells for wing growth to tryout tonight. Feel free to use them, however, to strengthen their power for you it would be best to tweak them to your befitting.

~ Blessed Apple Cider:

(This is for my homemade cider, following this recipe: Homemade Apple Cider (Non-alcoholic) But I changes some aspects of the recipe to suit my desires)

Every time you check the boiling apples, chant this phrase while imagining white light flowing from the apples as stem and being an aura around each apple:

"I call upon thee air spirits abound,
Invoke yourselves through the steam around,
Blessed be these apples with light to grant me wings for flight."

While doing so, always  remember to know your intentions and keep them in mind all throughout.

Once finished, fill selected bottle, pitcher, etc. to contain the cider. After it is filled bless the cider with the incantation;

"Victoria I request thee,
Here my plead,
Grant me victory,
With wings I will be freed.

Nike I request thee,
Present to me grace,
Wings for all to see,
Growth at the necessary pace.

Isis I request thee,
Such beauty I desire for my wings,
Sprouting forth such as your Sycamore tree,
Given flight and speed and all it brings.

Shinatobe I request thee,
Lift me away on your breeze,
An avian human I wish to be,
Grant this please.

The will be embodied in this beverage,
Filling thy body with the blessings,
To give to me leverage,
By the power of three (x3),
As I will it, so may it be."

Envision your wings as you drink the cider. Note that this will not effect others who have not added their wishes to the cider.


~ Ancestor Request Prayer:

During the time between sunset and sunrise, chant with your intentions in mind:

"Those before me,
Scattered on the family tree,
Accept my change,
Allow thy body to rearrange,
Hear my plea for flight,
Above with feathers so light,
By thy descended power,
Here during this ancient hour,
A new line of winged ones,
I with wings and onward it runs,
With your blessings, now a new me,
Blessed rest, blessed be."

Grow Wings Spells

To strengthen one's power, one's grasp over their path, they must constantly send the power and wish out into the universe. The universe is not the creation of the Gods. The Gods and Goddesses are powerful, divine beings. But they are not the creators.

The creator of all has unmatched power that can destroy and create, it can break the very laws of science and the balance of the universe.

Being determined and absolutely sure that it is what you want, can create anything. The secret to making your voice heard; ask, ask, ask. NEVER STOP ASKING. Always know what you want and place your complete heart and attention into it.

Some methods of communicating with the creator include (but are not limited to):

• Expressing your desires through meditation
• Prayers with the goal in mind and word
• Spells commanding the change
• Keep dreaming your dreams and indulging in them
• Communicate what you wish for out loud
• Speak to the moon like a friend, in all her phases (full moon is ordinarily used for spells being that the moon is at its peak of power. Personally I feel an affinity with the crone phases and late maiden phases)
• Maintain a strong belief
• DO NOT lose faith in the powers of the universe
• Send positive vibes telling of your wants

Okay I'll stop rambling x) Anyhow, here are some spells I cherry-picked (Note [ugh, more rambling]: The spells are effective any way you do them, as long as you give your most mentally and spiritually. In fact, they work better for you if you don't perform them exactly how they are given. Adding something is similar to adding your own signature which directs the power even more towards you.):

Search for your own spells, make up your own spells, mix and match items of multiple spells, anything. Just avoid remaining solely with one spell, it won't get you too far. I  am presenting these spells as a sort of reference or base for your spell. Also, study magic and develop an understanding for the way of the universe and magick. Improve your connection with nature. But most importantly, improve your connection with yourself.

Be careful with spell casting. If you are simply dabbling or trying them out for mere fun, don't. The information is for those devoted to growing wings. Having wings can be fun, but it is also quite a serious process; recognize that you are transforming yourself and it will be painful and above all difficult to reverse.
